Construction Innovation Manager

The Opportunity

Due to business growth and our thirst for innovation, a rare opportunity has become available to leverage your industry insights and bring innovative products and services to the Monier business.  Based in Rosehill and reporting into the Roofing Systems Development Manager, the main purpose of this role will be to support the discovery, development and commercialisation of new products, systems, initiatives and support site installations.

Key selection criteria for this role will include the ability to:

• Identify, scope, justify and manage the innovation around new Monier products & services
• Champion innovation and build the project pipeline that explores new business areas/opportunities
• Research and identify the needs and gaps of the business
  Engage key stakeholders on viable business innovation ideas and return from investment for the business
• Establish and maintain appropriate internal and external networks
• Follow latest trends and innovations
• Explore alternative ways to build – techniques, equipment and methodologies

To be Successful

To be successful in this role you will need to have technical competency and the ability to problem solve. You will need to have hands on approach in strengthening product development and supporting site installation. Familiarity with Australian Building & Construction guidelines and standards will go a long way in ensuring your success.

To be considered you will need to have:

• Tertiary qualifications in Engineering/Construction
• Business qualification desirable but not essential
• 5 + years in construction / engineering
• Previous leadership experience
• Project management experience
• New product development and implementation experience
• Strong commercial acumen
• Able to work with ambiguous strategic targets and convert to tangible outcomes
• Strong communication skills and can successfully network and engage a range of stakeholders to drive outcomes
• Creativity with the ability to think outside the box
• Strong networking skills and being able to translate ‘blue sky’ ideas into viable business projects
