Neumann Steel, part of the Neumann Group of Companies, specialises in the manufacture and distribution of concrete reinforcing products, and has branches in a number of locations in Queensland and New South Wales. 
 
About the role:
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated Manager to join our team located at Caloundra, on the Sunshine Coast. This is a busy branch, with a high number of deliveries, regular customer “walk-ins” and “drive-ins”, varying loading requirements, some production activities (cutting and bending reinforcing steel) together with all the associated administration and support activities.
 
The successful applicant will be responsible ensuring that all of this happens, safely, efficiently and delivers continued customer satisfaction.  Teamwork is essential in the branch, so you need to be outgoing, assertive and decisive as well as supportive.
 
Key responsibilities:
  • Managing the full range of branch operations, including production, transport and delivery activities
  • Ensuring customers are served promptly and efficiently, including stepping in “hands on” as required
  • Building and maintaining strong working relationships with customers and suppliers, including organising distribution activities and resolving any issues as they arise
  • Coordination and management of stock control activities for the branch including stock orders and cycle counts
  • Managing administrative support in the office, including Quote entry, Purchase Order entry and general accounts processing serving customers and general administration tasks.
The ideal candidate:
  • Previous experience in managing a branch in the building products industry
  • Strong leadership, communication and customer service skills
  • Appreciation and understanding of reinforcing steel and accessories (desirable)
  • Sound ability with IT applications
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a good communicator
  • Sense of humour and can-do attitude
  • Focused on providing effective and prompt solutions to problems as they arise and willing to go the extra mile to meet customer needs.
