About the business and the role
We are a growing national environmental consultancy based on the Sunshine Coast with projects Australia-wide. We provide environmental compliance, land management and wildlife management services.
We have an exciting opportunity for Fauna Spotter Catchers to work on our project based in Western QLD on a FIFO Roster. Both immediate and ongoing opportunities on offer.
Job tasks and responsibilities
The role of Fauna Spotter Catcher includes:
- providing Fauna Spotting, Catching, Identification and Relocating of Fauna across all construction phases.
- Experience in linear infrastructure construction will be highly regarded.
Skills and experience
Requirements for the roles include:
- Demonstrated experience in current best practice fauna spotter catcher methods
- Experience in conducting fauna habitat surveys
- Identification of native flora/fauna including declared pest plants species
- Data collection and field reporting as required
- Ability to utilise iPads, applications and GPS
You must possess the following credentials:
- Current own ABN
- Must be self-sufficient with provision of own equipment to undertake tasks and responsibilities of the role
- Construction industry safety induction card (White Card)
- Current Driver's license
- Fauna handling and Venomous snake handling certification
- Demonstrate your eligibility to work in Australia
Desirable credentials:
- Teritiary education in wildlife management, conservation and land management, environmental science/environmental management or animal related studies will be highly regarded
- Fauna Spotter Catching Experience associated with construction/linear infrastructure
- Ability to work autonomously
- Possession of own wildlife permits/licenses highly regarded
- Current 4WD Training Certification
