Due to significant growth, we are currently seeking a Junior Project Manager based in Melbourne. The role offered is on a permanent full-time basis, however part time applicants will be considered.

About the role

This role would suit a recent graduate or someone with experience in Project Management who is looking to advance their career. This is a challenging and rewarding position requiring fine attention to detail learn theability to manage high volumes of works under strict timelines.

The successful Junior Project Manager’s experience will ideally encompass both fit-out projects within retail banking or other retail environments or a background as a Contracts Administrator who is ready for a new challenge. Ideally but not essential, you will have tertiary qualifications and a proven ability in delivering commercial construction projects on time and within budget. 

Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate reports as required by the management team according to delivery deadlines
  • Be accountable and assume responsibility in delivering projects on time and within budget and escalate any delays or challenges immediately to the relevant person.
  • Effectively lead and manage the facilitation of projects and associated administration from concept to hand-over within quality, cost, safety and time frames.
  • Reviewing and approving contractors to conduct work on the project site.  This will include review of licences, insurances and SWMS for the contractor works
  • Establishing the project’s environmental objectives and targets
  • Coordinating incident investigations and reporting to the customer / client and relevant authorities, as required
  • Conduct and provide training relating to WHS and site-specific needs as required

Skills and Experience

  • Some experience or exposure to estimation of Minor Works with values up to $2,000,000
  • Contractor Management – including engagement and management of trades to handover of project.
  • WHS implementation and management across project sites
  • High level of computer competency
  • Exceptional organisation and time management skills
  • Strong leadership, delegation and motivational skills
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to work
