Bushland Plant Operator

You will be required to operate plant and provide assistance to complete works associated with the conservation and maintenance of Council's Bushland, in particular works associated with the construction and maintenance of fire trials and walking tracks.  You may be required to assist in Council bushfire hazard reduction activities.

This role will be responsible for operating our wheeled excavator and mulcher attachment doing fire trail maintenance. Activities include vegetation trimming with the mulching attachment and spreading, shaping and compacting sandstone to repair fire trails.  They will also participate in walking track maintenance activities (vegetation trimming, minor construction).  This role requires the operator to drive the excavator on public roads/streets.  They must be highly skilled and be able to demonstrate past practical experience. Background in road construction and landscaping are favorable.

For this role you must have; 

• White Card Essential 
• Plant Operators Certificate
• Experience in the use of forest mulcher attachments

• Road building skills
• Knowledge of Landscape construction

This will be a hands-on role for the right person.

The successful applicant will be a self-starter, be able to work on own initiative and be available to start work at 6:30am.
