There is a vacancy in our Merchandise and Marketing team. If you understand the building process, have excellent knowledge of building materials and are willing to learn to use a new software, we would like to hear from you.
The right person will have a genuine desire to deliver great service to stores and our builders, take a Customer First approach and work as a part of a small team to make a real difference.
The primary objective of this position is to offer estimating capabilities to our stores, our sales team and our builders. The role requires the individual to engage and work closely with the stores especially Account Managers to improve the accuracy of the estimates and meet builder expectations in turnaround time and BoQ inclusions.
Skills/Knowledge/Experience to be successful in the role:
- Sound knowledge of the construction process
- Good knowledge of building materials/products
- High attention to detail
- Ability to read and interpret building and site plans/engineering drawings for accurate take-offs
- Measure and calculate the cost of materials
- Prepare bills of quantities (BoQs) and quotes
- Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors
- Strong initiative and ability to work unsupervised
- Excellent communication skills and problem solving capabilities
- Strong numerical skills
- Computer literate, proficient in MS Office and able and willing to learn to use a new software
