Our client, a fast-growing company in the residential construction sector, is looking for an energetic Estimator -Residential.
About the company:
Our client, a fast-growing residential construction company, is looking for a young, dynamic and enthusiastic Estimator-Residential to start with them on their prestigious multi-unit development projects in Melbourne. They have grown organically and got good projects in the pipeline. You may come from any trades background, worked at any construction site as an Estimator for a minimum of 3 years, MUST BE residential construction.
About the role:
As an Estimator your main responsibilities will include all estimating duties including job takeoffs, construction budgets, obtaining bids from vendors, preparing reports creating BOQ's , variations, purchase orders, liaising with construction supervisors, managers and evaluating offers to purchase by costing changes, additions and site requirements
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Creating BOQ's
- Job takeoffs
- Prepares construction budget by studying residential plans; updating specifications; identifying and projecting costs
- Evaluates offers to purchase by costing changes, additions, and site requirements
- Creating purchase orders
- Obtains bids from vendors and subcontractors by specifying materials; identifying qualified subcontractors; negotiating price.
- Resolving cost discrepancies
- Utilising costruction software
Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 3 years experience as an estimator on a residential construction site
- Ideally relevant tafe or university qualification
- Ideally trade qualification
- White Card holder
- Have some construction software skills
- Strong communication skills
- A positive attitude and a desire to progress with your career
