[link removed]The Downer/ Seymour Whyte Joint Venture recently awarded the construct only contract for the 10.5km Berry to Bomaderry Upgrade. The JV will build four lanes of new divided road between Mullers Lane at Berry and the Cambewarra Road roundabout at Bomaderry in addition to building temporary roads and carrying out road work for the safety of motorists and workers. When completed, it will be the final piece of more than 30km of highway upgraded between Gerringong and Bomaderry since work started in 2012.
Our Infrastructure Projects business is now seeking to engage the capability of an experienced Surveyor for works in the Berry/Nowra region. This is an excellent opportunity for a self-driven Surveyor to work on a RMS roads project focusing on Safety, Value for money and efficiency.
The Surveyor is accountable for providing survey services for the project in the areas of technical services, construction design, set out, GPS control system management and setup, machine control system co-ordination and management, pickup and provision of as constructed records to the contract requirements.
ABOUT YOU
- Diploma in Engineering Surveying or equivalent formal qualification
- Intermediate to advanced computer knowledge with emphasis on Surveying packages such as “Terramodel” or “12D”
- Experience in Surveying in the civil construction industry
- RMS experience highly regarded
- Planning for sections of projects including economic planning, financial management, compliance with legal requirements, management of people and project resources
- Knowledge of relevant QA and S&E systems relating to survey work
- Undertakes survey required to control location and quality of engineering developments throughout a project
- Contribute to designing, establishing and maintaining spatial reference systems, maintaining core data bases, determining spatial relationships within land and geographic info systems
- Set out on earthworks and highway/ rail contracts and structural works
- Gathers field data, processes data for designers, engineers and QA personnel
- Operates, sets up equipment for survey use, makes models for GPS and machine control, come knowledge of machine control operation
