Our client is a well-established Australian design & construction firm, based in Sydney.  Founded in 1982, their excellent reputation in the building industry is the result of thirty year’s hard work, delivering high quality projects on time and on budget.

They are currently seeking an exceptional Contacts Administrator to join their Sydney operation.

Reporting to the Project Director duties will include

Project Planning

  • Familiar with process and documentation

Tender Management

  • Scope of Work and schedule
  • Provide Request for quotation (RFQ)
  • Supplier selection methods and criteria
  • fulfill Letting Schedule

Contract Administration

  • Daily operations schedule
  • Establish contract performance benchmark parameters
  • Weekly progression report
  • Contract administration procedures and frameworks
  • defect rate
  • variation b/w budget and actual expenses

Procurement Management

  • Assist in obtaining site Development Approvals from Government and authorities
  •  Participate in discussion and co-ordinate with all consultants
  • Prepare clear Statement of Work, including the specific business terms and performance criteria
  • Prepare tender package in a conforming, professional manner as and when required.
  • Source the most suitable supplier, sub-contractor
  • Assess and process sub- contractor contractor claims, variations and extension of time claims
  • Ensure all new subcontractors have submitted their required insurances, safety related
  • information, and all other contractual documents prior to them commencing work on site
  • Develop and implement quality assurance measures
  • Monitor program progression, safety, financial status, program quality, and any required        information;
  • Scrutinize subcontractor progress claims to ensure work claimed has been completed and
  • arrange payment
  • Analyze the impact of contractual changes and any liability exposure that the change might cause
  • Conduct defect check and documentation
  • Negotiate, renegotiate, and administer contracts with suppliers, vendors, and other   representatives.
  • Actively monitor and follow up on outstanding payments. Prepare purchase orders, solicit bid   proposals, and review requisitions for goods and services, and review requisitions for goods and services.
  • Implement and Maintain Site Safety

Skills, experience, and competencies

  • Tertiary degree in Property Development, Property Economics, Civil Engineering, Project Management, Survey, or similar.
  • Driver licenses
  • First Aid
  • OHS
  • 6-8 years construction industry experience
  • minimum of 5 years post graduation
  • proficiency in the legislative, regulatory, and administrative obligations incumbent on the building and construction industry for OHS, environmental, employment and financial practices
  • Proficiency in establishing and implementing contract administration procedures and frameworks
  • Ability to read and interpret technical publications
  • Solid understanding of BCA requirements and Australian building standard
  • Proficient in the legal frameworks and requirements of Australian
