Project Manager required for local contractor specializing in civil projects around the ACT.
Your new company
Hays is working with a local civil contractor with a fantastic reputation and pipeline of work that is in the market for an exceptional Project Manager. This organisation has been in operation for under a decade, but has already made a significant impact in the local market. Working on projects $1m - $5m, my client has created a niche market to operate in, where they receive exclusive work from multiple clients including local and NSW Government. The organisation is building the capacity and resources to expand in larger subdivision and infrastructure projects.
Your new role
Due to the growth, there is an opportunity for an up and coming Project Manager to join the organisation. The successful candidate will:
- Report directly to the Managing Direct and in tandem with an experience Construction Manager;
- Oversee the full scope of projects in delivery, while also forecasting for future works;
- Manage a team of Project Engineers and Contract Admins responsible for specific projects;
- Liaise with clients and government authorities; and
- Manage contracts, with particular focus on maintaining a company focus on limited variations.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- A degree in Construction, Engineering or similar;
- Strong understanding of civil construction with matching experience;
- Fantastic communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to talk to government officials;
- Excellent contract knowledge and management; and
- The desire to step up in an operational role.
