Privately owned and managed, multi-award winning Commercial Construction company.  Our work includes units, medical, office, retail, government, schools and refurbishment work.  Most of our projects are within the $300k to $2Mil range.

Due to growth and restructure within the business, we are now looking for an experienced person to join our team as a Contracts Administrator.  This is a full-time permanent position commencing as soon as possible.  This role reports directly to the Managing Director and the Construction Manager, who between them have over 50 years of construction industry experience.

Duties / Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing building contracts;
  • Programming for job sites;
  • Purchase orders;
  • Managing workflow for construction projects from start to finish;
  • Managing and tracking variations;
  • Site supervision on smaller jobs;
  • Liaising with trades and subcontractors;
  • Acting as a direct conduit between site supervisor and administration;
  • Measuring of materials for ordering;
  • Monitoring compliance of QA system;
  • Job site preparation.

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A minimum of two years’ experience in a similar role;
  • A thorough understanding of construction plans;
  • A thorough understanding of programming;
  • Previous experience in supervision;
  • The ability to handle numerous variations, requests and queries;
  • A high level of attention to detail together with excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Good computer skills in a multitude of programs;
  • A construction qualification.

This is a fast-paced office with a good forward book of work, so we require a person who is self-motivated, wants to work hard, learn new skills and fit in with a culture of excellence within the construction industry. The successful candidate must also be willing to spend a fair amount of their time on job sites, organising sub-contractors and suppliers and working in with our site staff either in a support role to our supervisors or a lead role for smaller jobs.
