About the Organisation
As an established and successful privately-owned civil contractor with over 30 years of operational experience, they are experiencing strong growth across the business. With turnover well over $40m, they are looking to engage an WHSE Officer, with strong OH&S background in construction. You will work with project and corporate teams to ensure all health, safety and environmental obligations are met across the business.
About the Position
Reporting into the General Manager and working closely with the project manager’s, you will have a dynamic role within the business assisting at various stages of project work, with responsibilities of ensuring compliance in all aspects of project Health, Safety and Environmental.
Responsibilities will include:
- Assisting in the preparation and submission of tenders
- Assisting in the scheduling of projects and preparation of project documentation.
- Gathering of project documentation, maintenance records, SWMS, assisting with ITP’s etc.
- Ensuring effective management, maintenance and implementation of our Work, Health and Safety, Environmental and Quality Management Systems.
- Conducting audits, preparing reports and closing out of actions
This is an office based role near Bankstown, with occasional travel to local project sites.
Skills & Attributes required
To be successful in this role you will need to have:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar position within the civil/ construction sector
- Tertiary Qualifications in Occupational Health & Safety (minimum Cert IV OHS)
- Environmental qualifications advantageous
- Understanding of WHS and Environmental Legislation & Regulations
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills
- High level of communication skills (both verbal and written) and high attention to detail
- Ability to establish and maintain a good professional relationship with internal project teams, stakeholders and management.
