Purpose of Position 

We seek a highly motivated, passionate and reliable individual to join our State-wide Construction based team. The successful candidate will be required to meet the following criteria.

  • Extensive knowledge of 2D / Single Line Circuit Drawing / Diagrams
  • Ability to understand / interpret Legends / Architectural Specifications
  • Proficient with the Auto-Cad Software(2015 Version)
  • Sound Understand of the Revit Program(Auto-Desk)(2017 / 2018 Versions)
  • Work in a flexible, fast pace and ability to be adaptive to a wide range of Drafting tasks.

Position Authority

Reporting to the Operations Manager / Project Manager(s) / Account Manager(s) or as indicated otherwise.

Responsibilities / Duties

Drawing / Drafting / 3D Capability 

  • Must be proficient with AutoCAD and have the ability to perform various 2D Drafting Tasks / Single Line Drawings
  • Sound Understand of Revit (Auto-Desk), they will need a sound understanding of the program with regards to managing a complex Revit model and other architectural/service links. Specifically a sound understanding of visibility settings, managing sheets/views, revision updates, printing and ultimately being able to provide the necessary 2D drafting overlays on the models. 
  • Ability to create designs (with instruction) of Electrical diagram wiring and system connections so installers have the project specifications they need to properly perform their task.
  • Work closely with the Project / Account Manager.
  • Report on pending / completed Jobs as required.
  • Explain Drawings to the wider team when required.
  • Draft plans and detailed drawings to be used.
  • Comply with Project status updates, adjusting activities to meet critical deadlines.
  • Ensure timely completion of all allocated projects.
  • Clear communication of any drawing variations / amendments to the plans.

Project Involvement Responsibilities 

  • Attend major new project/contract hand over meetings as required.
  • Understand contract requirements.
  • Ensure project/contract Drawings will meet client expectations and make changes where necessary.
  • Effectively plan and monitor projects from a Drafting / 3D perspective. 
  • Assist with any design activities.
  • Continuously improve systems, processes and procedures.
  • Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with Company Guidelines, Vision, Mission and Value Statements.

Health and Safety, Environmental and Quality 

  • Participate in nurturing the development of a culture of zero harm.
  • Follow all HSEQ procedures and processes and recommend changes where necessary.
  • Commit to the effectiveness of the HSEQ system as required.
  • Ensure conformance with the goals and objectives of the HSEQ system and initiatives

Commitment to Customer Service 

  • Provide feedback to customers when tasks are completed and of any outcomes and recommendations.
  • Ensure that clothing and vehicles are maintained and presented to a high standard at all time.

Communication with Team

  • Contacts requestor and / or technical contact for clarification / details / assistance as needed.
  • Develops project / task plan with team.

Documentation within Team

  • Assures that all information needed for the project is obtained and logged / recorded in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Assures that any annual leave and sick leave are put through the appropriate process.
  • Ensure that changes are documented and communicated.
  • Ensures that all work is tested as per legislative requirements and results saved as per specifications.
  • Uses all technology and procedures to monitor and track projects.

Clients & Related Stakeholders

  • Establish and maintain close working strategic relationships with clients and other related stakeholders (builders, consultants etc.).
  • In particular, build effective professional relationships with clients who have major projects/contracts.

  • Extensive computer skills.

  • Read, understand and follow production schedule information. Escalate any errors or omissions you might find.

Remuneration / Wage

Successful candidates will be employed under a Negotiable Non-Disclosure Agreement outlining base package and associated entitlements.
