Labourforce have recently partnered with one of Australia's leading event hire groups and we are looking to assemble teams for what is shaping up to be an extremely busy year for exhibitions and events.
What is involved when working in events?
- bumping in and out - this can involve all manner of things from laying carpet squares to installing partition walls, setting up tables, installing TV screens and working closely with clients to set up and best represent their products.
- Forklift drivers - required to unload/load trucks, take palliated stock to designated areas - must be prepared to also assist with laboring work
Who are we looking for ?
- Well presented and well groomed people - it is all about presentation in this business and we have an expectation that our workers will be well presented and in correct uniform at all times
- Reliable people - exhibitions and events hold tight time frames especially at bump out so we need our crews to be onsite and on time!
- People who can be flexible - bump ins are generally a few days up to a week depending on the event and during the day, bump outs start as soon as the exhibition has finished so the hours will vary.
- Excellent communications skills - you will be working very closely with clients and will need to be able to communicate with them in a professional manner.
- Ambitious people - we are looking for leaders within our groups so if you are looking at varied, exciting, sometimes challenging but rewarding work that can lead to leading a team we want you!!
The exhibition and event hire work is in three main locations being Melbourne Exhibition Center in Southbank, Royal Exhibition Center in Carlton and The Royal Melbourne Showgrounds in Flemington but can also extend to other locations throughout Melbourne and Geelong.
Those that have experience within the industry or similar will be highly regarded as will those with a carpentry or handyman background.
