The Returned & Services League of Australia (Queensland Branch) is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to providing advocacy and housing assistance for those in need, care and support to the lonely and ill, and camaraderie to enrich the lives of current and former Australian Defence Force personnel and their families.
We are currently looking for a Project Manager in Construction who will be responsible for the planning and delivery of end-to-end construction projects on behalf of RSL (Queensland Branch). The Project Manager - Construction actively seeks and reviews all tender applications and quotations for all building works, including the engagement and management of contractors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivery of Capital Works Projects
- Manage the development of project feasibilities, design, documentation, Local Authority approvals, tender processes, construction and project close
- Provide advice as requested to the Asset Management Department on Capital Works Projects.
- Develop, Implement and maintain a rolling asset condition audit program to support the development of Asset Management Capital Work programs and maintenance program
- Manage contractor engagement (due diligence and SWMS + WH&S)
- Effective handover of completed project to Asset Management Planner
Required skills:
- Tertiary degree in project management, engineering or a related discipline; a trade qualification with well-established continued learning in project management will also be considered
- Demonstrated ability to manage a mid-sized construction project with tight budget tolerances; [300K-2Million].
- Strong construction acumen with a detailed knowledge of contractor pricing and a sound knowledge of construction methods
- 8 years + experience in project/construction management or related field
- Well-developed communication skills, to effectively liaise with internal stakeholders and strategically negotiate with contractors
