About the role
Zancott Knight is looking for National Procurement and Estimating Manager to join the national team. As the National Procurement & Estimating Manager, you will have an overall responsibility to manage the tendering process to ensure that Time Quality & Cost objectives are met and that the client’s expectations are exceeded where possible. You will also be instrumental in developing and maintaining our client relationships and lead the estimating team to procure opportunities to tender whilst simultaneously developing a network of service providers and quality contractors.
Additional activities involved in this role will include:
- Provide leadership, advice, strategic direction and support to the, executive management team
- Effectively and efficiently manage the Procurement & Estimating Processes of the organization with responsibility for the following:
- Oversee and coordinate the Estimating Department
- Identifying, seeking and marketing opportunities for future project and business works through business development in cooperation with the Business Development Managers and Directors
- Training, development, and performance management of direct reporting staff

- Contribute to the development and implementation of any strategic plans as required
- Assist Directors, Operations Manager and Managers to achieve corporate and departmental objectives through best practice, program management
- Promote and protect Zancott Knights image as a Customer Service Focus organisation.
- Undertake Special Projects as required.
- Support the Directors & Executive Management team on any related matters
- Communicate effectively and cooperate with all relevant industry stakeholders
- Provide support to others as identified and required
- Effectively and efficiently work within each site
- Be diligent and professional in pursuit of job and project outcomes
- Transfer of position within area of expertise if required
- Ensure that the company’s WHS&E system are considered in all aspects of project activities
Skills and experience
- Degree or other relevant university qualification or related business discipline, or working towards finalisation and/or prior estimating experience and knowledge
- Understanding and use of proprietary tendering software such as Bid-manager or similar
- Knowledge of relevant legislation including: Work, Health Safety and Welfare Act; EO Legislation; Construction Industry Code of Practice
- Leadership and time management skills
- High level of interpersonal skills with an ability to resolve issues
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Prior experience in dealing with, developing and motivating staff
- Innovative skills to identify opportunities and alternatives to initiate and develop new ideas and practices
- Able to deal with pressure and multiple tasks simultaneously
Police clearance is required prior to commencement; some sites may require a drug and alcohol assessment prior to commencement and throughout the project.
