Fredon is a well-established tier one electrical and mechanical services business established for over 50 years. We are a leading provider of services to the commercial and industrial sectors. The company offers the expertise required to design, supply, install and maintain a wide range of electrical, mechanical, security and communication service technologies.

A Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Advisor is required for our mechanical division in the delivery of medium to large commercial and industrial air-conditioning installations. This person will assist projects and site managers in the delivery of their projects. He/she will report to the various project managers as allocated, on a day to day basis, and functionally to the Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Coordinator.

The Role Description will include but not limited to the following:

  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of the company's HSEQ Management System and Project HSEQ Plan on the allocated projects and sites, and ensure compliance;
  • Conduct Site inductions to all company and subcontractor workers on the project;
  • Monitor and update on a regular basis the Project Risk Assessment and be involved in incorporating newly identified risks into the relevant company and/or contractor’s SWMS;
  • Conduct initial reviews of subcontractor Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) to ensure they meet the requirements of the company's HSEQ Management System, Project Safety Plan, legislation standards and codes as well as sign off on all SWMS for all contractors on site;
  • Perform regular site safety inspections /walks to ensure the site meets all the requirements of the company's HSEQ Management System, Project Safety Plan and WHS legislation, regulation, standards and codes;
  • Assist with Daily Pre-start meetings and Toolbox Talks on site;
  • Respond to HSEQ issues such as incident and accident investigation and conduct necessary investigation with corrective actions.
  • Assisting the project team with tasks as necessary to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Maintain company AS/NZS4801, ISO:9001 and ISO: 14001 accreditation

Minimum Requirements

To be successful in this role you will have the following:

  • Previous experience in Australia as a Health and Safety Advisor within building construction.
  • A tertiary qualification in Health and Safety – Minimum Cert IV in WHS.
  • Sound understanding of the construction environment and a sound knowledge of the relevant

Legislation and Codes of Practice.

  • Excellent communication skills verbal and written.
  • Strong understanding and working knowledge of HSEQ processes and compliance for OHS Regulations, Acts and Workers Compensation Legislation
  • Confidence to implement and ensure compliance of safety processes across sites
  • Comprehensive skills in Microsoft Work, Outlook and Excel
