About the role:

This is a newly created role where your primary focus will be to work with business management to identify, agree and realise purchasing costs reduction opportunities, develop a competitive advantage from Best in Class purchasing price levels across different categories, foster and leverage strong supplier relationships and provide governance in purchasing and developing the group’s Procurement capabilities.  You will be based from our offices in Fairfield and will report directly to the Head of Procurement, ANZ.

 

You will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring the procurement strategy is adhered to, maintaining compliance and consistency
  • Conducting supplier negotiations, evaluation, down selection and ongoing management
  • Deliver, implement and maintain category management strategies for direct and indirect spend categories
  • Formulating group purchasing policies & guidelines in line with ENGIE Group standards and communicating these throughout the business
  • Driving purchasing behaviour towards compliance and maximum savings from increased application & enforcement of policies & guidelines
  • Driving the purchasing process engineering towards standardisation, compliance and controls
  • Provide spend analysis & reporting (real-time and empirical data) in constant search of prioritised cost saving opportunities, and tracking of realised purchasing cost savings
  • Implementation of systems solutions and systems improvements to support Purchasing/Procurement
  • Working towards better process maturity from increasing controls and less manual handling of purchase orders processing towards more electronic interfaces/technology enablement with vendors

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a procurement management role, ideally in the industrial / building services industries
  • Strong negotiation skills/able to negotiate win: win outcomes with major suppliers of goods and services
  • Demonstrable experience in delivering business improvements within a fast paced procurement / supply chain environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly ethical, professional, and organised approach in managing priorities
  • Good commercial acumen, business judgment and entrepreneurial aptitude, with strong analytical skills
  • Advanced MS Excel skills essential
  • Strong understanding of Procurement & Inventory functionality within ERP systems
