Our Timber division in Herons Creek, NSW is seeking an experienced Site Safety Officer to join our team. Bring your manufacturing experience to manage and monitor a range of onsite activities to support line managers to ensure corporate, moral and statutory obligations of safe and healthy work places and environment protection. This position will see you interacting with regulatory bodies and actively participating in site monitoring programs.
About the position
- Develop, implement, maintain occupational health and safety management systems to ensure compliance and reduce workplace injuries, meet legislative requirements and take corrective actions to resolve non-conformance
- Establish and promote the maintenance of safe and healthy working conditions and safety consciousness
- Provide guidance and support to on-site Supervisors and Leaders regarding incident, near miss, hazard reporting and injury management
- Provide expert HSE management for routine operations and planned plant shutdowns
- Contribute to reduction and elimination of hazards, incidents or injury/health hazards by conducting Site employee and contractor inductions and regular site/operational inspections
- Identify and promote synergies between HSE processes and Boral Production System / LEAN tools and activities
About You:
- Tertiary qualifications or Cert IV in Occupational, Health & Safety and/or Environmental science or management
- Demonstrated experience in a HSE/Risk Management role within a manufacturing or production environment
- Knowledge of applicable acts, regulations, codes of practice and Australian standards
- Ability to recognise and determine associated risks of WHS, environmental & injury management impacts of decisions & actions
- Knowledge of LEAN concepts
- Works autonomously and provides strategic input
- Effective communication skills and ability to interact, coach and support internal and external stakeholders
