The Company:
An exciting opportunity has presented with one of QLD's longest standing award winning property development and construction groups. Our client has been established over 30 years, is a diversified business and has a strong focus in development and building producing residential projects across medium density, contract housing and Over 50s living projects. They have experienced strong continued growth over the last few years and have an impressive pipeline of land secured and projects to deliver over the next 5 + years.
The Position:
An opportunity currently exists for a Purchasing Officer to join the Estimating department.
Responsibilities will include
- Streamlining and management of supply agreements
- Implementing best practice procurement strategies
- Developing and maintaining relationships with key suppliers
- Management of efficiency, costs and service of contractors and suppliers
- Working closely with R&D team
The Successful Candidate:
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the following:
- 5 years estimating or procurement experience in a building company
- Experience in the volume residential construction industry essential
- Relevant tertiary qualifications highly regarded
- Highly developed communication and negotiation skills
- Knowledge of the QLD supplier market and QLD construction industry
