Melbourne is going through a civil infrastructure boom! In fact, there’s in excess of $14bill of civil construction work underway in Melbourne. As such experienced Civil Site Engineers with medium to large civil construction experience (Highways, Tunnels, Rail, Civil Structures etc – Transport related) are required for terms from 2 to 4 years (and potentially longer).  

Remuneration is based on experience of course, though you can expect a salary between $85k + Super to $110k + Super + Car if you’re a Senior Site Engineer.   
 
Site Engineer Duties:  

• Monitoring & supervision of some sub contractor works 
• Resolution of design issues with various project consultants 
• Maintain project quality, safety, environmental systems & procedures 
• Monitor construction works to ensure contractual obligations are met 
• Responsible for co-ordination of activities between design office and construction site 
• Check compatibility of various engineering drawings 
• Report any contradictions in drawings to design consultants before construction 
• Put through RFI’s (request for information) 
• Organise the procurement of materials for sub contractors 
• Deal with local authorities for access and shutdowns etc 
• Work with Project Engineer to develop and maintain project programe 

Ideal Background:  

• Degree (construction related) 
• Demonstrated history on larger civil construction projects (for the contractor) 
• Must have Australian Experience
