About the role

If you are customer-focused, have an understanding of the insurance home claim process or have worked in the construction industry where repair and restoration has been the focus, please consider this exciting and challenging role.

The Building Supervisor's role is essential to the success of the claim and remains the point of contact for our clients in our major construction projects, their customer and our sub-contractors. You will work closely with a number of key people to drive successful outcomes in line with industry specific KPI's and Service Level Agreements

Skills and experience

The ideal candidate must have:

  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks at once in a busy diverse environment.
  • Trade background or proven experience in the building & construction industry, commercial building experience an advantage.
  • Experience in diagnosing and reporting on building damage and repairs.
  • Strong time and organisational management skills with the ability to work autonomously.
  • The ability to develop relationships with insurance clients and loss adjusters.
  • Proven customer service skills.
  • Willingness to work as part of a team to constantly improve performance outcomes.
  • Insurance industry building experience is considered an advantage but not essential.
  • Intermediate computer skills including experience in Microsoft office (excel, word, outlook), Microsoft Project and using an iPad on the go with intermediate typing skills.
  • Role and responsibilities:

    Manage construction projects to meet safety, cost, time and quality objectives.

  • Ensuring scopes of works are accurate prior to works commencing.
  • Liaise with insurance company and insured.
  • Engage and manage trades to meet time and budget criteria.
  • Meeting and exceeding service level agreement targets.
  • Ensure Health and Safety requirements are met.
  • Overseeing claim risk management, life cycle and quality control including meeting budgetary requirements.

Occasional interstate travel to other offices, to assist in the increased workloads following major events may be required.
