The Role & Company
As a professional Contracts Manager, you will have a background in Contracts Management with a recognised Australian Builder. As the Contracts Manager overseeing a $100M Business Unit, you will be responsible for uniformed procurement methods, analysing project risk at the front end, maximising margin opportunities, managing and mentoring existing CA's, leading the monthly Cost Reporting process and reporting to Executive Management.
Your commercial acumen and experience of working within the construction industry will give you a strong body of contracts experience which will assist you in driving more fluid and effective commercial processes. Perhaps you're a Senior CA looking to step away from project delivery or a Project Manager whose strengths lie in the commercial arena. You will be able to pull apart and negotiate on contracts including AS4000, D&C and AS4916.
Long-term and aligned with continued business growth, you will have the opportunity to step into Commercial Management across several Business Units.
The Company have been a leading Builder across the Eastern Seaboard of Australia for more than 40 years. Privately owned with several subsidiaries, you will be joining their fastest growing division with annual turnover growing to $100M within 5 years. They Build in a variety of sectors with a key focus on aged care and residential and have a track record of delivering single projects to $80M for Blue Chip, National clients.
Qualifications & Experience
- You will have a minimum of 10 years' experience working in a QS role overseas or as a CA within Australia and hold at least 3 years local experience
- You will be driven by commercial gain for your business, have an analytical mind and be able to demonstrate a history of strong financial management on construction projects
- The role would suit an existing Senior CA looking to step away from delivery or a Project Manager looking to do the same
- You will be able to prioritise, manage and mentor as key attributes
- You will have experience of large scale business procurement, systems implementation and the ability to identify risk within construction contracts
- You will ideally be Degree qualified within a construction course
