Overview

The $8.3 billion North West Rail Link is Australia's largest public transport infrastructure project currently under construction and a priority rail project for the NSW Government. It will be the first fully-automated rapid transit rail system in Australia.

As part of the Infrastructure Joint Venture, the two partners CPB Contractors and John Holland Group have collaborated to deliver world-class rapid transit services, which will provide customers with a safe, high quality, reliable, efficient and affordable public transport solution and meet the specified performance requirements on a whole-of-life basis.

We are seeking another member to join our dynamic Quality team and to be a part of this iconic project in delivering state of the art design and innovative technology for Sydney's future.

 

Job Description

Reporting to the Quality Manager, your role will include but not limited to the following;

  • Implement the requirements of the Quality Management Plan
  • Provide specialist quality knowledge, expertise and communicate quality requirements of the deed and the project quality management system to Construction Team.
  • Review and verify compliance of construction work related documentation (Construction Lots).
  • Implement effective process and controls for materials management including good in and goods out inspection, storage and handling and monitor controls to ensure effectiveness.
  • Implement inspection and test regime (including Hold/Witness points) required to meet contractual requirements, control identified quality risks and assure quality standards are achieved.
  • Monitor test equipment register to control calibration and service records
  • Contribute to the completion of Activity Method Statement (AMS) & Work process documentation.
  • Attend Hold and Witness point inspections and authorise to release
  • Conduct on site/off site inspection regime to verify compliance against specifications and/or requirements.
  • Review and submit QA related documentation in a timely manner & provide assistance to all teams to achieve this.
  • Identify, report and investigate the cause of non-conformance work
  • Review proposed correction and corrective action to address non-conformance and audit findings. Re-inspect to confirm compliance and corrective action is effective
  • Compile data and information for the Weekly Quality performance reports and provide feedback to site construction meetings and other forums
  • Participate in meetings to discuss quality performance and resolve quality issues
  • Evaluate and inspect suppliers and subcontractors quality system, processes and products.
  • Conduct and participate in quality related audits – prepare finding and communicate / follow up any actions.
  • Manage continual improvements within the QMS and related systems, provide training to engineering teams

 

The ideal applicant will have;

  • Tertiary (Bachelor or Diploma) education in Engineering, Science, Building, Construction, Quality Management or Project Management.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ quality experience on infrastructure projects
  • Rail industry background with a solid understanding ISO 9001:2008
  • A good understanding of general specifications and project related requirements plus sound knowledge of design / construction interface procedures
