Regional council located an hour out of Melbourne are looking to appoint a Building Surveyor on a part-time basis to oversee their statutory obligations. The role would potentially suit either a semi-retired building surveyor looking for an opportunity to work in a part-time capacity, or a Building Surveyor running their own business who is interested in working within the private sector for 2-3 days a week.
Duties will include:
- assess building permit applications for compliance with the Building Act 1993, Building Regulations 2006 and National Construction Code.
- issue building, occupancy permits and certificate of final inspection
- conduct building inspections at the mandatory notification stages
- serve Direction to Fix non-compliant building work
- serve building notices and orders under the Building Act 1993
