AECOM Construction Services have a wide portfolio of projects across Australia, including major Infrastructure, Defence, Aviation, Education and Healthcare. We are looking to further build our successful Construction Services group in Australia and further develop the well-known AECOM brand across some of Australia’s most exciting construction projects.

As a result of continued growth and our position in the market our Construction Services group we are looking to hire a strategic and influential Director to work with some of the best in the industry and benefit in working across a diverse range of opportunities and pursuits,  and supporting projects.
 

The Role

This is your opportunity to step in to a thriving AECOM group as a proven Director with a passion to win work, grow teams, provide project and program leadership, mentoring  and deliver across multi-disciplined construction environments. You will work across our Construction Services team and the broader AECOM business. You will be involved throughout the local operating geography of Australia-New Zealand and have potential exposure to major overseas project pipeline, while providing a strategic focus and priority to the local operations of the business.

A proven Director will be responsible for identifying, bidding, winning and delivering civil construction projects across numerous industries, with a specialist focus on civil infrastructure. Coupled with this will be your ability to provide valuable input to clients and advise on a range of projects and delivery models, alongside some of the following regular activities;

  • Managing and coordinating across multiple internal and external stakeholders groups (Directors, Managers, Clients, Sub-contractors and Consultancies)
  • Drive and organise a varied project portfolio and program of works across multiple Australian locations at various project stages
  • Targeted project development strategy, new business development and growth of current business relationships
  • Working closely with clients as first point-of-contact on project issues, advice or delivery
  • Facilitate stakeholders effectively to remain on-time and on-budget throughout project lifecycle
  • Able to provide guidance and support the approach to securing and delivering work under integrated models such as PMO’s , EPCM and Delivery Partners
  • Working closely with , and reporting to the Industry Director , Major Projects , Construction Services
  • Utilise a global brand in the local Australian construction market

 

The Person

To be successful in this role it is essential that you are a proven leader of major projects from concept to completion, ideally across the civil infrastructure space. The Associate Director will have a solid and up-to-date understanding of Australian codes of practice and standards, alongside a proven network in civil construction.

The core attributes of a suitable candidate for this role would have the following profile;

  • Minimum 15 years’ experience across varied civil infrastructure projects across the lifecycle of development and delivery
  • Winner-doer model; proven background in targeting, bidding, winning and delivering major projects (ideally leading  projects  in integrated models such as EPCM, PMO and Delivery Partners framework) with a client centric mind set
  • An understanding of PMO models and involvement in construction projects
  • Excellent communication skills, with an ability to gain buy-in from complex stakeholder groups
  • Confident, autonomous individual capable of leading bids and packages of work, alongside taking ownership of construction projects
  • Ideal employment background across both consultancy and construction/client-side roles
  • Civil Infrastructure and Land Development are highly preferred project backgrounds
  • Ability to perform a national role , with some travel required and preferred location of a Brisbane base
  • Ability to tap into known networks and generate opportunities from current and new business clients
