The City of Ballarat’s Operations and Environment unit is seeking self-motivated individual to become part of the Road Maintenance team, in the delivery of quality services to the City of Ballarat.

Road Maintenance is looking for an experienced plant operator with a “can do” attitude to undertake Road Maintenance duties to achieve road management plan requirements with a focus on Unsealed Road Maintenace, Laneway Maintenance and Shoulder repairs throughout the City of Ballarat. You will have the ability to work as part of a team and autonmonosly in line with Councils Values to achieve best maintenance outcomes throughout the City of Ballarat.

The ideal candidates will be self-motivated, keen to learn and possess the required skills to be part of an operational team. A Victorian driver’s licence “Car” is essential.

Key Selection Criteria
 

  • Trade certificate or completion of TAFE accredited training course relevant to the industry.
  • Ability to work in a team-based environment and perform duties with minimal supervision
  • Practical experience in Civil maintenance works or civil engineering practices relating to Unsealed Road Maintenance activities.
  • Practical knowledge and experience in the use of plant and equipment required of the position, Tractor / roller combination, Loader and Grader Operation highly desirable
  • Knowledge and understanding of health and safety issues relevant to work activities and work area.
  • Current Worksite Traffic Management Certificate
  • Current Drivers Licence HR preferred
