Civil Foreman

BMD Urban is a national civil contractor engaged in residential, industrial and commercial land development as well as a wide range of infrastructure projects. BMD Urban is a subsidiary of the BMD Group. We have been working throughout Australia for 38 years and employ 1,700 people.

About the Role

As the Foreman, you will have total control and knowledge of the onsite works for the project.  It is your responsibility to ensure the project is delivered on time, whilst ensuring a safe worksite is maintained and a quality product is constructed.

Projects will include TMR road works and other minor infrastructure projects.

Duties

• Implementation of Occupational Health and Safety requirements as well as Environmental requirements. 
• Ensure HSEQ awareness is maintained at all times.
• Carry out tool box safety meetings with documentation records kept once a month with all personnel on site.
• To be approachable, fair and reasonable and provide leadership to the team of leading hands, plant operators, labourers and sub-contractors, clearly defining responsibilities, areas of operation and allocation of labour.
• Direct the allocation of site resources and monitor the effectiveness of the resources with direct correlation with the daily production rates.
• Have a thorough knowledge of the drawings, specifications and quality requirements for all site related activities.
• Communicate with client representatives and/or superintendents and Council Inspectors to ensure their requirements are being met.
• Maintain a diary with clear details i.e. weather, stand-down of hire equipment, stand down numbers and conversations of importance.

Skills & Experience

• Extensive construction experience with a reputable contractor.
• Have a thorough knowledge of the drawings, specifications and quality requirements for all site related activities.
• Demonstrated leadership qualities.
• Well-developed communication skills (oral, written and interpersonal).
• Ability to solve multiple complex matters simultaneously.
