Key Accountabilities

  • Responsible for the development and operation of industry leading operational works, including coordination, planning and scheduling;
  • Develop and monitor the annual budget including expenditure and programs and prepare budget variation reports;
  • Responsible for risk analysis, risk management and detailed scheduling work processes for all phases of operational works, disaster management / recovering and project delivery;
  • Ensure planning, scheduling and prioritising of operations is maximised for optimum delivery and performance;
  • Lead teams to successfully achieve planning, scheduling and project delivery for operational and strategic goals;
  • Manage resource requirements for planning, scheduling and project delivery staff; and
  • Establish a predictive framework for operational works planning and scheduling to support optimisation of resources (including human, plant, equipment, technical and budget resources) for responsiveness, effective and safe delivery of services across the Gladstone region.

Skills and Experience

To be successful in this position, you will have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree of Engineering, Construction Management, (or related discipline) and / or demonstrated significant experience in planning and scheduling, with diverse industry experience acquired from working in a similar field delivering large capital projects;
  • Operational leadership experience, building a culture of high-performing, multi-disciplinary and geographically dispersed teams;
  • High-level detailed technical knowledge of project planning, workflow, schedule risk analysis, risk management, and scheduling work processes for all phases of a works delivery program;
  • High-level interpersonal and communication skills, inclusive of presentation and report writing skills;
  • Demonstrated collaboration, negotiation, facilitation and teamwork skills;
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (particularly MS Project) and operating corporate business systems; and
  • Legally able to drive a motor vehicle in Queensland.
