ACCIONA is undertaking the design and construction of the civil works on the Sydney Light Rail Project. The scope includes 12km of track, 19 stops, and a bridge over the Eastern Distributor, a tunnel under Moore Park, stabling and maintenance facilities, substations and other service buildings along the route.
We currently have an opportunity for a Claims Manager with experience working on civil and/or rail projects to manage upstream contractual disputes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identifying and evaluating legal and related commercial risks and opportunities. Reporting on the same and recommending strategies to limit or avoid risks and capture opportunities consistent with the strategies and objectives of the business.
- Analysis of all contract documentation and associated subcontracts.
- Review and make recommendations regarding legal and commercial documents, including contracts, deeds and letters, as required.
- Managing commercial relationships with clients, partners and other stakeholders.
- Oversight and management of matters through various dispute resolution processes.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Degree qualified (construction Law, commerce, finance, engineering or a related discipline)
- Previous experience in a similar role working on a major infrastructure project
- Extensive experience in construction projects (10 years +)
- Demonstrated ability to motivate and manage teams.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Sound legal, commercial and risk management knowledge
