Client is major commercial multi-disciplinary property business based in Brisbane’s CBD. They own and manage a large number of commercial retail and industrial assets utilising their holdings to return significant return to their shareholders
Your new role
Role will involve managing a number of projects on behalf of the asset owner. So will be acting as an in house consultant and working with project sponsors to coordinate all aspects of building projects from scoping and design through to delivery and post construction activities. The key function is assisting in taking responsibility for the quality and suitability of the product delivered to the organisation and ensuring meets time and cost needs while also neatly balancing risk and health and safety requirements. The projects are mostly commercial and retail fit-out projects with some smaller commercial new build and reasonable scale extensions thrown in. Value wise would suggest in the low million dollar range, so probably running 3-4 projects decent projects and maybe few small ones at any one time as opposed to having one big project to be responsible for.
What you'll need to succeed
Candidates would need to be experienced Client Side Project Managers with experience of delivering commercial buildings and / or commercial / retail office fit-outs on behalf of owners. Candidates will likely be tertiary qualified in a construction discipline and then have experience working in a similar role working for consultancies or potentially main contractor looking to move into consultancy role. As always with these roles, having strong communication skills and an ability to manage and influence stakeholders with different and often competing interests are essential to be a success in the role
What you'll get in return
Client is offering fixed term contract at this stage for approximately 12 months. Worth noting there is a good opportunity to extend. The role offers a good work life balance and interesting varied workload while working for genuine market leading business. Salary wise would suggest 110-125k with little bit of flexibility for outstanding candidates
