Reporting to the Construction Manager, this position will work on varied projects. The Site Manager plays a critical role in leading the delivery of projects throughout the phases of construction. They have specific responsibilities and oversight of project deliverables including on programme and budget whilst achieving the highest standard of quality and client/stakeholder satisfaction.

The ability to build relationships and negotiate with a variety of stakeholders to accomplish shared outcomes is critical to achieving the required outcomes of this position.

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Management on site.
  • Managing all aspects of project delivery, to complete the project on time and within budget.
  • Work to deliver projects to the highest standard of quality and satisfaction for all stakeholders.
  • Responsible for the efficient management of all trades on site.
  • Actively monitor and manage costs, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Client satisfaction and liaison.
  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
  • Manage all contractors on the project ensuring that quality standards, safety requirements and deadlines are met.
  • Participate in post-project review, identify areas for improvement and implement for future projects.
  • Comply with all systems and procedures that are in place to minimise risks to health and safety, and with WHS legislation, codes of practice and other appropriate regulatory frameworks.
  • Ensure appropriate resources and budget allocations for WHS measures are utilised.
  • Monitor WHS performance and report all incidents and hazards.
  • Maintain relevant knowledge of WHS issues.
  • Act as a role model by demonstrating safe work behaviours.

To be successful in this position and be a great fit for our team, you must have:

  • Prior experience in a similar role with Commercial and/or Residential experience and be passionate about ‘creating futures’ and how we add value.
  • Appropriate tertiary and trade qualifications and experience including qualifications in carpentry.
  • White Card.
  • High level of knowledge interpreting specifications and drawings accurately.
  • Understanding of contemporary building practices.
  • An understanding of relevant WHS, construction law and practices and relevant construction legal and other regulatory requirements.
  • High level of customer service.
  • Outstanding time management, attention to detail, organisation and communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently on tasks while still being able to work cohesively in a team environment.
  • Ability to lead and manage a team.

  • Are people who are not team players and only focused on self-benefit.
  • Are ineffective communicators who are not transparent.
  • Are unable to manage timeframes / deadlines.
  • Have a poor work ethic.
  • Don’t take accountability or pride in their work.
