Our client is a tier one construction company with an established national presence and strong reputation for service delivery throughout the resources sector. Due to continued growth, the business now has an opportunity for an experienced Operations Manager to oversee multiple projects across their East Coast region including Queensland, Victoria, NSW, South Australia and Tasmania.
The appointee will be responsible for managing the delivery phase of multiple projects which includes developing and maintaining project targets and objectives; liaising with stakeholders; monitoring performance, planning and quality standards, safety compliance; meeting deadlines and management of project execution and ensuring costs are within budgets. Mentoring and developing project leaders is also an important part of this role.
To be successful for this position candidates should have the following:
- Considerable experience in delivering projects up to $400 million.
- Strong technical background in SMP and E&I.
- Experience working in a construction contractor
- Broad based exposure to the resources industry including mining and oil and gas.
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications in mechanical engineering or a related discipline.
- Greater than fifteen years industry experience and more than ten in leadership roles.
- Proven skills in contract management and client relationship building.
- Strong leadership, mentoring and change management experience, with well-developed interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
