This is a highly rewarding and challenging opportunity for an experienced and driven Compliance & Permits Coordinator to join our busy and dedicated Dual Occupancy team located in Norwest. This is a newly created and highly regarded position to facilitate the growth of the Dual Occupancy business in NSW.

Reporting to the Workflow Manager, your responsibilities will include:

• Assess plans and documentation and ensure compliance to Metricon guidelines and building regulations within agreed time frames;
• Assist the effective and efficient management of Council and PCA Compliance function under the direction of the Workflow Manager;
• Inspect all classes of building work and categories of development for compliance with Development Act, Building Code of Australia and relevant codes and standards, dependent upon qualifications/accreditation;
• Assist with the Sales, Drafting and Customer Support Teams with administrative support for the permit application and approval processes;
• Provide an action plan for resolution of any complaint from customers arising out of your area of responsibility;
• Liaise with town planners, private certifiers and assessing officers for an efficient and compliant approval process; and
• Record and report reoccurring conditions and implement strategies to prevent future repetition and to promote efficiency.

The successful candidate will have:

• Tertiary qualifications in Building & Construction, Town Planning or related disciplines with up to 5 years work experience in a similar role is desirable;
• Development assessment experience in local government with demonstrated understanding of the relevant legislation;
• Understanding of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act, 1979, Local Government Act and other relevant legislation;
• Accreditation with the Australian Institute of Building Surveyors is desirable; and
• Demonstrated knowledge in the Building Code of Australia and Land & Environment court proceedings.
