The Department of Finance, Services & Innovation (DFSI) is a service provider, regulator and central agency of government. We are transforming the way we do business to help make NSW great. 


 
Heritage Stoneworks are an agency within DFSI that are responsible for maintaining public heritage buildings and structures within NSW. The team, based in Alexandria, manages the project and construction delivery of the Minister’s Stone Program and other heritage projects.


 
Heritage Stoneworks is seeking to appoint six (6) Stonemasons to work with our team of experienced Stonemasons engaged in the restoration/conservation of heritage buildings. The workshop is based at Alexandria, with the majority of sites based within the Sydney metropolitan area.


 
Join us and apply your stonemasonry experience to assist with the planning and delivery of a range of infrastructure projects. You will use your previous banker and site installation skills to support the production of stone and assist with on-site activities.


Key accountabilities:

 

  • Assist with the planning and delivery of assigned infrastructure projects by applying standard organisational procedures and carrying out project tasks assigned by a more senior Stonemason in accordance with nominated cost budgets to assist in responding to clients in a timely manner
  • Assist in training the Apprentice Stonemason in the scope of the role and safety Requirements 
  • Assist in the achievement of client satisfaction targets by delivering tasks to best practice requirements and by being responsive and effective in all client interactions
  • Contribute to the capture of lessons learned on projects by participating informal lessons learned forums
  • Contribute to the continued professionalism and technical reputation of the business unit by undertaking professional development activities in consultation with business unit management.

 
Essential requirements:

 

  • Successful completion of a stonemasonry apprenticeship
  • Demonstrated stonemasonry experience including proficient banker and/or site installation skills
  • Well-developed knowledge and understanding of current Work Health and Safety legislation and regulations
  • A valid NSW Driver’s Licence and willingness to drive to remote locations which may include overnight stays.

Salary Stonemason Wages Level 4/5 package includes fortnightly wage ($2,182.85 - $2,305.95), plus applicable allowances and employer’s contribution to superannuation.
