We have an exciting, unique opportunity for an experienced Senior Project Manager/State Construction Manager to join our National  Construction and Equipment team within Supermarkets. Your role will be to lead, coach and mentor the State Construction team while working with the Construction Feasibility Manager in preparing the State Feasibility studies and aligning the allocated projects to the viability.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating the Construction program between all relevant departments, both state and national.

  • Ensuring all required reports are ready for review during project allocation and store walks

  • Review design submissions, cost plans and reports to ensure store viability is maintained and divisional formats are adhered to

  • Consolidating all the information pertaining to each projects into the standardised format, ready for presentation to the General Manager Construction

  • Support the State property, Format team  in presenting the project to the State General Manager Operations and the Senior management team

  • Hand the project over to the allocated Construction Project Manager and monitor project progress

  • Maintain a good working relationship will all departments, including Planning, Property, Operations and Finance

You will have:

  • Strong experience in construction project management

  • Recent experience completing projects within live environments

  • The ability to demonstrate strong leadership qualities

  • Relevant Construction qualification (or equivalent)

  • An ability to manage multi-disciplinary project teams, technical staff and a variety of contractors remotely concurrently on multiple projects

  • Experience in contract documentation involving all aspects of standard contracts, specifications, programming and drawing

  • A high level of communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Solid decision making skills and a strong sense of urgency

  • Retail experience would be desirable

  • Familiarity with MS Word, Excel, Project and SAP software
