ABOUT THE COMPANY
Our Business Partner is a Government Department with a portfolio of assets which requires new design implementation and project delivery for various government housing projects falling under the Program Delivery & Development teams on a contractual engagement based in Parramatta.
THE ROLE
The Project Design Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the quality of housing design is adequately communicated, procured and delivered through external providers. This role does not perform the function of an Architect in that they will not design projects but it supports the delivery partners to develop high quality and innovative designs. The role will provide support to the Development Directors in the refinement of site specific feasibility studies, cost planning and project design.
Key Accountabilities:
- Analyse, advise, review and determine risks and mitigations to ensure Government department meet the statutory obligations and to avoid unnecessary delays.
- Drive the implementation of efficient and practical design and cost effective solutions.
- Plan, manage, monitor and coordinate project reviews and quality assure the design and construction phases with delivery partners.
- Liaise with the Principal Design Manager, key stakeholders and business partners to keep them informed of any risks that need to be controlled during the design and construction phase(s)
- Participate in buildability and value engineering reviews
