"Hands on" civil site supervisor job based in Adelaide for a highly reputable civil contractor.
Your new company
This long standing civil contractor is entrenched with decades of history and experience in the South Australian market. Their tenacity and work ethic over the years, has led to their reputation in the industry, backed by successfully delivering on local and state government infrastructure projects in addition to various other projects with private stakeholders.
Your new role
You will be working on site and responsible for the day to day management of all activities, including coordinating your crew including any subcontractors ensuring all work is done safely through the running of daily / weekly toolbox meetings. you will be responsible for having determined workloads delivered on schedule and in accordance with company policy. Reporting to the project manager, you will also be responsible for updating progress reports and managing resources. Additionally to this you will also be required to operate plant machinery when needed and be able to mentor and teach others who may require it.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful, you need to have both exceptional plant operating skills and site management skills. Unfortunately, this role is not suitable for plant operators looking to step up into site management roles or site supervisors who are not regularly using plant machinery. Site management/foreman experience on small to medium sized civil projects is essential and the ability to communicate well is extremely important.
