CNC Project Management is an Australian professional consultancy, working side-by-side with its clients to get projects moving. We work on some of Australia’s largest infrastructure projects; and work across all stages of the project lifecycle. We are a dynamic team, who strive to collectively support our clients to deliver quality projects.

Due to increased project demand, we are seeking to expand our existing team of environmental professionals. We are looking for Environmental specialists with experience in large scale infrastructure projects for upcoming project opportunities predominantly on the east coast, however opportunities may be available in other locations across Australia.

About the role

These roles provide environmental management and advice on infrastructure projects such as road, rail and pipelines with a focus on environmental management and compliance, stakeholder engagement and general project management.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement environmental systems, CEMP (or equivalent), sub-plans and procedures required for onsite management and pre-mobilisation activities.
  • Interpret environmental contractual obligations and provide environmental advice in accordance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare for site mobilisation, including obtaining 3rd party authorities, permits and approvals prior to construction and oversee work in accordance with their conditions.
  • Manage the regulatory environmental compliance of the project during the construction phase.
  • Provide strategic advice to senior management and field crews to support effective planning of construction, particularly in advance of construction through sensitive environmental areas.
  • Coordinate onsite waste management, soil testing, water monitoring and weed hygiene/ biosecurity and perform fauna handling.
  • Coordinate environmental incident response planning and implement procedures.
  • Provide training and advice to project personnel including site inductions, leading pre-starts and toolbox talks to construction and field crew.
  • Compile and manage the environmental reporting and record keeping requirements.
  • Lead the implementation of Quality Assurance and ensure project personnel meet their responsibilities.
  • Manage internal communication with project staff and provide regular updates to project leads and management.
  • Facilitate and participate in project and client meetings.

Essential requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualification with at least two years construction industry experience, preferably in infrastructure development or gas pipelines, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • High level communication skills with the ability to connect and collaborate with stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor a project team.
  • Ability to manage project planning with proven time management skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment in implementing and fostering health, safety & environment principals and procedures.
  • Ability to travel and undertake field work (FIFO basis may be required).
  • Successfully undertake and obtain a federal police clearance with no disclosable outcomes and a medical clearance to determine ability to undertake the inherent requirements of the role.

Desirable requirements

  • Current Queensland Rehabilitation Permit.
  • Certified Practitioner in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC).
  • Certified Environmental Practitioner (CEnvP).
  • Workplace Health and Safety qualifications.
  • RIIVEH305A Operate and Maintain Four Wheel Drive Vehicle.
  • HLTAID003 First Aid.

These roles will be offered on a casual or permanent basis. An attractive remuneration package will be negotiated with successful candidates.
