This is a unique opportunity to work for a large Mid-Tier builder new to the Sydney market. The company have been in business in Melbourne since 2000 and currently turn over $500m-$600m. They build from start to finish, ensuring optimum consistency, cost efficiency and quality of finishes on every project they take on. This builder works across a range of industries from retail and industrial to commercial, sport and recreation, multi-residential and medical projects. Typically, projects range from $20m - $150m and they have an array of strong blue-chip clients that they work with from their relationships in Melbourne and Sydney. They are renowned for possessing a superior level of expertise and experience in the industry and winning awards for building excellence.
  
WHAT'S ON OFFER
Our client is looking for a Contract Administrator to oversee a new Health / Commercial project. The project is worth $35m and is a complex new build which has both commercial and health as part of the build. This client has already secured a Hotel project in the CBD worth $70m and a residential project worth $30m. This is a great opportunity to get into this business in their early stages and work with some strong people at the top of their game. You will be joining this builder as one of their first Contract Administrators and there is huge scope to grow with this organisation.
  
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• In-depth understanding of, and the ability to manage, all facets of the subcontract process. This begins at tendering through preparation and letting, payment, and post project completion
• Proficient in all contractual matters and the ability to communicate this knowledge in a practical and meaningful way to the project team
• Understand and comply with the company business systems. Administer projects ensuring accuracy of records and timely communication of all project details
• Assist the Project Manager with project financial reporting and analysis
• Develop an understanding and working knowledge of project planning and programming
• Ensure safety compliance on site within your roles and responsibilities

KEY REQUIREMENTS  

• Bachelor Degree in Construction Management or Quantity Surveying
• 5+ years post graduate experience in Building, Construction and Contract Management at both head and Subcontract level
• Solid local work history with large Tier 2 builders in Commercial or Health projects in the region of $30m - $100m
• Computer literate including Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft word, Project, Excel, Outlook, Aconex and ideally Jobpac or CHEOPS
• Awareness of major forms of Head Contracts and fundamental Contract Law principals
• Basic understanding of construction practices, sequencing of methodology and value of building related goals (materials and services)
• A technical working knowledge of major building trades
• Working knowledge and understanding of construction specific Acts, Codes and Regulations with particular attention and awareness of the Building Code of Australia, security of payments Act and Work Health and Safety Act 2011
