Prime Build is a Tier 3 construction company specialising in retail fit out & refurbishment. Established in 2008 in Sydney, we have since opened additional offices in Melbourne & Brisbane & have completed projects across Australia after building ongoing relationships with industry-leading clients (75% of our business is repeat). While ~70% of our projects remain fit out & refurb, we are also expanding into new build and diversifying our client base.

The Role

As Leading Hand you will work closely with Site Managers to supervise a team of tradesmen and subcontractors and ensure that projects are completed in accordance with the construction program. A typical day might see you supervising the site to ensure that works are completed on time and in accordance with site instructions, ensuring site safety and that works are completed defect free and working on the tools. You will work with industry-leading clients and gain exposure to the opportunities often afforded to larger organisations while enjoying the fun and variety of a smaller team with a family feel.

You'll fit right in if you ...

• Have previously worked as a Carpenter, including having at least a Certificate III in Carpentry and 5+ years’ experience in the construction industry
• Having the discipline and positive drive to manage yourself and others to keep to schedule
• Have experience in fit out/refurbishment (an added bonus, but not essential)
• Are a self-starter and a clear communicator who works well in a team to get the job done on time and with no defects
• Have a strong focus on safety for you and your team
• Are a genuine team player with a no hassles, can do attitude who takes pride in delivering quality work
• Possess your own tools and car
• Are an Australian resident, fully qualified to work in Australia
• Are available to travel to regional areas and undertake regular night shift (essential)
