We are a medium size building company based in North Melbourne who are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic residential estimator.
As an estimator you will be responsible for:
* Estimating and project ordering for residential homes.
* Liaising with trades and contractors to obtain quotes
* Checking and negotiating quotes and supplier rates, and ordering material in a timely and effective manner, ahead of construction scheduling
* Checking all invoices against materials and labour ordered
* Pricing variations and providing timely and accurate quotes
* Sourcing new suppliers and trades for the provision of various building items as required
* Reading and interpreting drawings and engineering plans
* Producing accurate and timely full BOQ's (i.e timber lists, brick takeoffs etc)
The following is required:
* MUST have minimum 2 years prior experience as an estimator within the Australian residential building market
* A qualification in building/construction and/or a background in Carpentry
* Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
* Open minded, positive attitude
* A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
* Fluent in English
* Previous experience using Databuild.
Salary: will be negotiable with successful candidate
