This opportunity is to work for a top tier 2 builder as a senior member of the team. A family run operation with extensive experience across the Australian construction markets.
Working across an array of sectors my client has a healthy tender pipeline looking to grow the business particularly targeting residential, commercial & retail projects up to 100m+.
  
The Role
  
The successful Design Manager will be from an architectural or engineering background with experience working for tier 1 or 2 main contractors. You will work autonomously to get to an outcome. 
Key attributes would include the following;

• Design Manager needs to be experienced in Design and Construct projects up to $100M Residential / Commercial and retail.
• Must be able to autonomously handle the appointment and ongoing management of Design team during construction in order to achieve fully coordinated AFC drawings
• Must be an integral team player who can add value in the early Design and tender phases
• Can manage the sample submission and approval processes
• Ability to resolve details on site when necessary
• Manage the effective outcome of all items arising from Safety in Design
• Have a solid understanding of fire rating and acoustics in multi high rise construction, knowledge around façade products and recent changes to cladding legislation advantageous
• Conversant with the management and resolution of the Development Consent conditions, staged CC’s to completion.
• Be able to create and manage Design Programmes
• Will manage the final certification and OC process with Certifier and Council and must have experience in dealing with Public Domain.
• Past experience with the collation of Building Maintenance manuals, warranties and O&M procedures
• Proficient in Aconex, Word and Excel
