We have an exciting opportunity for a hands-on Workplace Health & Safety Co-ordinator to join our team at Wetherill Park. Reporting to the NSW General Manager, you will support and partner with the operations team to improve the overall safety performance and culture at the site.

The role will also include but will not be limited to the following responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct inductions, training and competency assessment of new and existing workers
  • Be visible and regularly engage with all workers through safety meetings, tool box talks, safety observations, etc.
  • Coach, mentor and educate workers, team leaders and supervisors to achieve best safety practices
  • Conduct routine safety inspections, monitoring and analysis of work area
  • Undertake risk assessments, incident reporting and root cause investigations
  • Work closely with the National WHS Team and Operations Team to implement safety improvement programs, policies and procedures

To Be Successful

  • Minimum Cert IV Work Health & Safety
  • Cert IV Training and Assessing
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience and knowledge of health and safety within a manufacturing environment is desirable
  • Sound knowledge of computer applications (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills, including stakeholder engagement to ensure clear and concise information is presented to the team, manager and customers
  • Exceptional organisational skills with an ability to prioritise tasks to achieve tight deadlines in an accurate and timely manner
  • High levels of self-motivation, drive and initiative combined with the ability to adapt to changes in circumstances
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required
  • High levels of integrity, confidentiality and professionalism
