About the role

With a range of projects in hand, we are looking for a HSE Advisor to support the Project teams working across WA's Pilbara, Port's and regional projects.

In this highly visible customer facing role, you provide proactive, practical guidance and expertise to ensure the delivery of work scopes in line with G&S, Client and Statutory requirements – while upholding the G&S objectives of Zero Exposure and an injury free workplace. Working in very demanding operational environments, your leadership presence in the field sets the standard of expected behaviours in managing work scope risk. Strong skills in communication and collaboration are essential to your success.

Responsibilities:

  •  Manage HSE duties to support our vision of a zero-exposure workplace.
  •  Provide site and project guidance, emphasising risk management.
  •  Implement HSE initiatives and innovations.
  •  Liaise and audit sub-contractors for HSE compliance.
  • Conduct project and site audits and workplace inspections
  • Facilitate HSE inductions and risk awareness training.
  •  Participate in Critical Risk Management activities.
  •  Develop strong interpersonal relationships with the project team and workers.
  • Passionately communicate our HSE expectations and standards continuously.
  •  Provide incident reporting and investigation expertise.
  • Actively promote hazard reporting and corrective actions.
  •  Manage fitness for work requirements, including fatigue management.
  • Maintain a strong relationship with our clients and HSE professionals on site

Skills, Education and Skills required:

  • Minimum of 2 years FIFO experience in the mining industry.
  • Minimum of Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety.
  • Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment (TAE).
  • Working knowledge of WA mining legislation.
  • Formal incident investigation training (ICAM).
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Project, work group and individual risk assessment skills.
  • Fitness for work testing qualifications (preference given).

To be a part of the team you must have a clear understanding of construction safety regulations and safe work practices, be physically fit and able to pass a pre-employment medical and consistently pass on-site drug and alcohol testing.
