About the Role

You should come from a builder background with specialised knowledge and practical experience on high level finishes of residential or hospitality projects. You should also have good working knowledge on services, façade and structure so that you can supervise the builder to delivery as per the design.   

The Role & Responsibility:

You will be working as the Developer Representative on site monitoring the quality, safety and programme. The role comprises the following key activities:

• Ensuring that work is carried out to the standards, specifications, correct materials, workmanship and schedule;
• Conduct shop drawing and material sample approvals;
• Become familiar with all the relevant drawings and specifications, checking compliance on site;
• Monitor inspections of a wide range of technical aspects of the work on project sites;
• Take measurements and samples on site to make sure that the work and the materials meet the specifications and quality standards;
• Review and comment on construction programmes submitted by the Builder;
• Supervise the implementation of the construction programme, bring any shortfalls observed to the Builder, and advise on opportunities of optimising the programme to speed up or catch up any delays;
• Be familiar with legal and code requirements for the works being conducted on site and monitor compliance to these requirements in terms of quality and safety;
• Monitor the builder’s establishment, registration and timely completion of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) for identified works and activities;
• Have and maintain a working knowledge of health and safety legislation and how it applies to the construction industry and bring any shortfalls observed to the attention of Builder and Construction Director;
• Identify non-compliant outcomes, review verification method proposed by Consultant and Builder;
• Monitor to completion project defect lists;
• Attend and participate in project startup, regular project review and close out meetings providing input on quality standards to be established, how they are to be attained, progress and levels of compliance and effectiveness of implementation.

Experience/ Background 

Ideally you will have the following:

• Specialised in high standard fit-out finishes, as the Client rep to supervise the builder deliver the highest quality finishes on site;
• Working knowledge of Services, Façade and Structure etc, as the Developer rep to supervise the builder deliver the highest quality finishes on site;
• Certificate IV in Building and Construction (minimum), ‘Clerk of Works’ qualifications (preferred);
• Construction Induction Card;
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in the construction industry across a broad range and scale of projects, ideally at supervisory level;
• Working with computerized construction systems and configuration database such as build Tools, Aconex etc;
• Excellent communication skills including conflict management;
• Ability to network at all levels of the organization and across subcontractors;
• Excellent time management and organizational skills to accomplish adequate monitoring across all projects while still focusing on the higher risk aspects;
• Risk Management for Managers and Supervisors - desirable.
