The role of Senior Project Controller in Downer’s Construction business will oversee the preparation and establishment of WBS & CBS structures, project plans, cost control tools and will ensure system alignment for EPC projects ranging from $1M to $>1B, in line with the organisation’s established procedures and guidelines.
ABOUT THE ROLE
- Develop fully resourced (hours, key quantities & costs) EPC schedules and cost forecasting tools for green-field and brown-field projects in line with procedures from estimates, scope documents, package lists, drawings and other appropriate documentation;
- Implement robust project controls and supporting systems for scheduling, monitoring and cost forecasting;
- Ensure Planning, Scheduling and Cost Control requirements are incorporated into subcontract enquiries and evaluate responses;
- Ensure the schedule is base-lined to the prescribed level of detail, including the development of a detailed basis of schedule;
- Provide support to bids and proposals team including client presentations and system demonstrations as required;
- Provide project controls and systems guidance during contract transitions and project start-ups;
- Develop effective implementation plans, provide training and on-going support to operational teams;
- Travel and spend time at relevant office locations / sites, to maintain effective relationships with operations teams;
ABOUT YOU
- Relevant tertiary qualifications (Engineering);
- Significant experience in a similar role working on large EPC projects within the construction field;
- Proficient in the use of Primavera 3, 3.1 and 6;
- Experience using JD Edwards is desirable;
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and contracts;
- Highly computer literate and proficient in use of MSOffice;
- Well-developed organisational skills, with an ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines;
- Strong influencing and negotiating skills, and solid interpersonal skills to relate with a variety of professionals at all experience levels;
