In support of the HCMT project, a new opportunity has become available for a Production Planner to join our project team at our new production facility in Newport. The High Capacity Metro Trains (HCMT) Project is a Victorian Government initiative and a $2.3 billion investment in Victoria’s rolling stock industry.

As the Production Planner, your role will be responsible for managing production material availability, releasing production orders to the production line and working closely with inventory control personnel to ensure the timely delivery of materials to the production line in order to meet the requirements of the HCMT project manufacturing schedule.

This position will be offered as a 6 – 12 month fixed term contract with the opportunity to transition into a permanent role.

ABOUT YOU

  • Degree qualification in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent is highly desirable.
  • Prior experience gained in manufacturing with exposure to planning/design/production will be well regarded.
  • Ability to develop and implement end-to-end planning.
  • Capability to understand and drive compliance with applicable regulatory requirement.
  • Ability to identify and deliver required outcomes in accordance with contractual requirements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and understanding of Critical Path Method.
  • Effectiveness as a communicator (both written and verbal) and integrator.
  • Possess flexibility, adaptability and leadership capability.
  • Willingness and confidence to make decisions.
  • Able to balance technical solutions with time, cost and human factors.
  • Able to identify and organise resolution of problems.
  • Ability to identify where things could go wrong and initiate back up plans (Risk Management).
  • Demonstrated leadership that strives towards the commitment to Zero Harm.
