Centrals are seeking an experienced Senior HSEQ Coordinator, based in our Osborne Park Office with visits to remote sites on occasion as required.

This role will report to the Directors in our Osborne Park office, and will be responsible for maintaining our Integrated Management System (IMS) to support continuous improvement and ongoing certification to ISO 9001, 14001 and AS 4801.

Roles/Responsibilities:

  • Provide the expertise, knowledge, capability and drive to enable the on-going compliance and continual improvement of the company management systems including quality, safety and environmental management in the context of the Integrated Business Management System.
  • Lead the audits to maintain certification against AS 4801, IOS 9001 and ISO 14001 and ensure ongoing compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Prepare and deliver appropriate training and education materials including induction materials, forms, templates and system updates to all employees.
  • Ensure hazards and unsafe workplace conditions and work practices are identified, reported and are being acted on. Monitor corrective actions to ensure risks are eliminated, isolated or minimised and the various registers are updated.
  • Lead the investigation of accidents, incidents, near misses and unsafe working conditions including reporting of identified hazards and appropriate risk control measures to the executive team.
  • Management and improvement of company integrated management system
  • Assist in the development of site specific project plans in close consultation with relevant supervisors and management and in compliance with the Integrated Business Management System
  • Liaise closely with supervisors and work crews in the implementation of the project plans
  • Undertake regular audits (office and project sites) of the implementation of quality, OH&S and Environmental systems
  • Consolidation of site and corporate monthly HSE reporting
  • Overseeing staff and contractor compliance, documentation and reporting
  • Regular reporting to management on IMS compliance matters and/or concerns

To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • A Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Experience within construction related industries being advantageous
  • Minimum Certificate 4 in WHS or equivalent (additional qualification in Environmental Management highly desirable)
  • Qualification in Quality or Environmental Management would be advantageous
  • Experience in maintaining Quality, Safety and Environmental Management systems in compliance with ISO9001, 14001 & AS4801
  • Knowledge of respective ISO Quality & Environment standards, and AS/NZS Workplace Health & Safety standards.  
  • Understanding of applicable legislative, regulatory requirements and standards relevant to the construction industry
  • Auditor training (advantageous)
  • Strong ability in effectively communicating and liaising with internal and external stakeholders
  • Passion and enthusiasm in driving strong safety culture in the civil construction industry
  • Team oriented, accountable and results driven
