Our client is a leading organisation in the infrastructure market and well-known business in the Newcastle area. As part of an enterprise-wide change management initiative, this organisation is centralising the Procurement and Contract management function.
  
The Opportunity
  
This role will provide the business with greater visibility across all procurement and contract management activities with a focus on efficiency and performance improvement.  You will work collaboratively with stakeholders across the business in Finance, Technology, Projects and Infrastructure to develop a coordinated approach to procurement and contract management.
  
Key Functions of this role:
  • Lead a staged transition of procurement and contract management services into a centralised function;
  • Maintain preferred suppliers list, supplier contract management and purchase orders;
  • Monitor and drive performance improvements in Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs);
  • Review and continuous improvement of all systems and processes;
  • Co-ordinate the tendering process;
  • Source and negotiate with suppliers;
  • Prepare, monitor and control cost forecasting, budgets and planning;
          
About You
  
You will be a Contracts and Procurement Management specialist with experience across a broad range of functional areas. Ideally, your background will include exposure to large scale capital projects and you will have thorough knowledge of ERP and reporting systems.
  
Critical to this role will be your proven leadership in the implementation of best practice purchasing practices, change management and superior communication and negotiation skills.
